Deciding to make an adoption plan for your baby is a difficult decision. Many decisions we make are based on myths, emotions and fears. In order to make a good decision we need to be informed about the matter and base our decision on the facts and the truth.
Many mothers fear they are letting their child down when the truth is the choice to make an adoption plan is so your child can have a fulfilling life with opportunities to succeed. It is because you want what is best for your child. It is because you love them so much, you are putting their needs before your own. This does not look like someone who is letting their child down.
You may be in a difficult living situation where you are homeless, or you are in a violent relationship, or you are struggling with addictions. Whatever the situation may be, you know in your heart, this is not what I want for my child. That is okay. There is no shame in that, only strength that you could make a responsible choice for this child. Birth mothers are strong not weak.
